Higuera Ranch is also the home of my love story…
From coffee walks to sunset talks, Jeff and I cherish this land we call home. We’ve celebrated birthdays and graduations with our daughters, entertained guests in the Celebration Spaces, and hosted church kids in the pool. It truly is our happy place!
This year, we joined hands and hearts at the top of Sunset Hill to exchange words I will always cherish. Much like our life, our wedding weekend was both a romance and a comedy!
Jeff surprised me on a Friday evening with a proposal in front of the most spectacular sunset at Fiscalini Ranch in Cambria. We were enjoying our favorite hike and stopped to take in the view. When Jeff proposed, it was a magical moment. Knowing me well, he even had a pastor on call if we wanted to get married the next day!
After a quick night of wedding planning, Jeff and I eloped the next day at the ranch. Other than our good friend Pastor Brandon from Clovis Hills Church, our only guests were Duke and Diesel, the famous Higuera Ranch steers!
Duke and Diesel, aka “the boys,” usually get a lot of attention from me! They didn’t quite understand the white dress or the sudden lack of love. Jeff and Brandon did a great job protecting me from their curiosity. However, the first time we closed our eyes to pray, they were ready for the attack. Diesel thought my dress was quite tasty!
